 Ich liebe die Verbindung von Kunst und Geometrie – und Spiralen sind dafür ein besonders vielseitiges und faszinierendes Motiv.

In dieser Session haben wir aus Quadraten zunächst Dreiecke entstehen lassen und daraus schließlich Spiralen entwickelt.

Klingt ein wenig nach Quadratur des Kreises? Ist es aber nicht – die Konstruktion ist ganz einfach!

Ein Blick ins Skizzenbuch (siehe Anhang) zeigt, wie die Spirale Schritt für Schritt aufgebaut wird. Übrigens funktioniert dieses Prinzip auch mit anderen Formen wie Fünf- oder Sechsecken.

Gemeinsam haben wir eine „Quadratspirale“ auf einem Zendala konstruiert – was dem Ganzen noch einmal eine zusätzliche Dimension verleiht.

Die einzelnen Spiralengänge wurden abwechselnd mit grafischen Mustern („Nzeppel“ in zwei Varianten) und organischen Formen (Poke Leaf, spielerische Mooka-Elemente) gefüllt. Die Ergebnisse sind sowohl klassisch in Schwarz-Weiß als auch farbig beeindruckend.

I love the combination of art and geometry – and spirals are a particularly versatile and fascinating motif in this regard.

In this session, we started by turning squares into triangles and eventually developed spirals from them. Sounds a bit like squaring the circle? But it isn’t – the construction is very simple! A look at the sketchbook (see appendix) shows how the spiral is built up step by step. Incidentally, this principle also works with other shapes such as pentagons or hexagons.

Together, we constructed a ‘square spiral’ on a Zendala – which adds yet another dimension to the whole thing.

The individual spiral turns were filled alternately with graphic patterns (‘Nzeppel’ in two variations) and organic shapes (Poke Leaf, playful Mooka elements). The results are impressive in both classic black and white and in colour.

In the appendix, you’ll also find a mosaic of the submissions from my course participants – a wonderful collaborative work, in my opinion. Thank you all very much, also for your lovely feedback in the emails!
